Frequently Asked Questions How can I tell if there’s a problem with my plumbing?
Good indicators of a problem are: poor water flow, hot or warm spots in your floors, radical temperature change when more than one water faucet is running, visual leaks or water stains, mold, knocking or pinging sounds coming from the pipes – to name a few.
Why should I line my pipes instead of re-piping them?
Consider the additional costs associated with traditional re-piping: tearing into walls; hotel living for weeks or months; hiring the right contractors and plumbers; reconstruction with associated cost and mess; unforeseen price increases, and accidental property damage.
Will I save money as a building owner by using the Nu Flow process?
YES - Owners will save thousands of dollars by lining the existing piping system from inside the walls instead of replacing the entire plumbing system. No digging into floors or destruction of walls means no reconstruction costs, and means tenants don’t have to stay in hotels at the owner’s expense, or be inconvenienced for weeks or months during a re-pipe. The average Nu Flow process takes about 3 days. Can the Nu Flow restoration process accommodate my tenant’s schedules?
YES - The Nu Flow restoration process is planned as far ahead as possible. An updated schedule of the suites to be restored each day can be posted in the lobby, and should not unduly impact a tenant’s regular routine.
Does pipe restoration last longer than new pipe?
YES - Metal pipes begin to deteriorate the moment they are put into service and water runs through them. Epoxy-lined pipes won’t corrode and are resistant to deposits from water by-products, as these cannot adhere to the interior walls of epoxy-lined pipes.
What types of pipe can the Nu Flow process restore?
For Drain repair we can restore virtually any line including but not limited to concrete, plastics, clay, orangeburg, plastic and cast iron. For potable we can restore, copper, steel, galvanized, lead. Any metal-based pipes and sprinkler systems can be epoxy-lined. Lining not only restores the pipes, but leaves them in better than new condition.
If my pipes are old and fragile, can the Nu Flow process restore them?
YES - Pipe systems only require 20% of their integrity for Nu Flow to line them. If the pipes handle your current water pressure, epoxy pipe lining will be successful. A Nu Flow specialist will perform a full on-site inspection to first assess the condition of the piping system, the nature of the problem, and advise you as to the best method of restoration.
If a hole is found in a pipe, can you still line the piping system?
YES - If a hole is found, we will replace the affected area and continue the lining process.
If a pinhole leak is found, can you fix it?
YES - However, the presence of one or more pinhole leaks indicates a likelihood that other areas in the piping system are failing or will fail in the near future. It is usually counter-productive and not cost-effective to attempt spot-repairs of pinhole leaks.
Is the Nu Flow process safe?
YES - Nu Flow uses blown air and sand at the same safe pressure as your water to completely clean debris and build-up inside and on pipe walls. The epoxy used in the process is UL certified to meet or exceed NSF/ANSI Standard 61.
Who has used Nu Flow’s drain or pipe restoration processes?
Our credo is “We line any pipe, any place, any time.” Our job library includes every type of structure from The White House in D.C. to Donald Trump’s Maralago Resort in West Palm Beach; from Solar Turbine and Boeing to thousands of single-family homes, restaurants, condos, apartment complexes, and medical facilities and hospitals around the world.
Will carpet and flooring be protected during the Nu Flow process?
YES - Because all work areas will be covered and protected.
Is the Nu Flow process the most environmentally-safe alternative?
YES - Because the Nu Flow process restores instead of replaces piping systems, adding to landfills is not necessary. All products used meet or exceed required environmental, sanitary and safety standards.
How long will it take to complete my home?
Typically it will take 2 to 3 days from start to epoxy-coat a piping system in the average home. The average home is defined as 2.5 bathrooms, 1 kitchen, 1 laundry room, and an outside hose bib.
How much does it cost?
A physical inspection is required in order to ascertain, for example, the number of plumbing fixtures, the layout and design of the piping system, and the type of pipe material experiencing problems. Call 1-866-553-9839

Will the Nu Flow process work on my swimming pool?
YES - As long as the pipes are metal-based. How will I know if the epoxy has covered the inside of all the pipes?
In the Nu Flow process, pipes are turned into a closed-end air loop system where continual air flow gradually blows the epoxy from the entrance to exit point. This ensures that every surface of the interior pipe walls is protected with epoxy.
How will I know the epoxy, once in the pipes, will not clog any section of my plumbing system?
The closed-end air loop system (described above) will ensure even and thorough distribution of epoxy and not allow the epoxy to build up or clog pipes.
How can I tell if my copper pipes are deteriorating?
Green verdigris is an indicator of a small leak, as copper turns green when exposed to water. Low quality copper pipes result in premature failure by corrosion - from the inside out. Look for small dots of green along the pipes.
