Property managers understand all too clearly the consequence of major construction and demolition in active properties. Nu Flow's non-invasive, epoxy pipe lining process avoids these problems.
Here are some of the potential concerns that property managers face when considering pipe replacement in aging facilities:
1. The destruction of existing structures (walls, ceilings, slab foundations and underground structures)
2. The cost to repair the damaged areas so they look "original"
3. Health hazards where asbestos insulation is present
4. Inconvenience to and lost productivity of building/facility occupants
5. Costs associated with displacement, when necessary, of tenants
6. High monetary cost of pipe replacement
Nu Flow's patented epoxy pipe lining technology eliminates these concerns, while eliminating the possibility of future water line problems. In fact, Nu Flow comes with a guarantee, which is unprecedented in the industry.
Pipe Problems
Property managers often run from one plumbing problem to another; as soon as one pipe is repaired or replaced, another pipe fails. Much of the problem stems from the age and grade of the pipe material, but those aren't the only factors.
Metal piping systems begin to deteriorate from the moment they are put into service. Mandatory chemical additives in drinking water since the 1970's is causing pipe failure in above ground and below ground piping systems in as little as 5 to 10 years of service.
Pipe Corrosion Over Time:
The erosion and corrosion of pipe walls can also be attributed to:
1. High oxygen or low pH levels in the water
2. Higher water temperatures
3. Erratic water flow patterns due to inferior plumbing techniques or poor piping design (spot corrosion)
Property managers often discover that the corrosion and erosion of the pipe walls have created pinhole leaks throughout the plumbing system. If these small, slow leaks go undetected, over time they can cause catastrophic water damage and mold growth.
The Solution to Your Pipe Problems
Nu Flow's epoxy pipe lining technology prevents these problems by creating a safe, evenly coated barrier between metal pipe walls and water. The epoxy lining performs several functions that property managers appreciate:
1. It is a permanent, preventive solution to leaks, breaks and blockages
2. It prevents erosion, thus guarding against water damage and mold growth
3. It acts as a barrier to heavy metals leaching into drinking water lines from metal piping systems
Epoxy lining can be performed in any metal pipe in any building, structure or environment, either above or below ground. The process can be applied wherever plumbing is installed, including: hotels, apartments, office buildings, manufacturing facilities, airports, underground utilities, oil rigs, and even ocean-going vessels.
Pipes from 1/2 inch up to 10 inches in diameter can be cleaned and lined using Nu Flow's pipe lining technology. The process works on a variety of materials including galvanized steel, copper, cast iron, black iron and lead pipe. In addition to fire sprinkler systems and water lines, property managers can benefit from Nu Flow epoxy lining in chiller lines, heating systems, electrical conduit lines and gas pipe lines.
The Process
First, Nu Flow maps the internal plumbing system to create an implementation plan that will provide the most efficient timeline for completing the job with minimum disruption. When needed, temporary bypass water piping is installed, then the system is drained and tested for leaks using air.
Next, heated compressed air is used to dry all the moisture. The pipe interiors are sandblasted, and air is once again surged through the pipe to remove any residue.
Following another air pressure leak test, the pipe is re-heated to better accept the epoxy coating. After the epoxy is applied, continuous controlled air is sent through the piping to help the epoxy set-up, or cure.
Finally, a leak test and inspection are performed, testing volume and flow to ensure your system is working better than ever!
