Nu Flow's patented non-invasive epoxy pipe lining can restore the integrity of the gas lines in your hospital and supporting infrastructure. As someone who takes care of all the behind-the-scenes work at a hospital, you are well aware of the dangers posed by a gas line leak. It can be difficult to detect the smell of gas in a large building, because there are so many lines and so many isolated places that a pocket of gas can build. On top of that, there are many medication odors that combine with antiseptics and other hospital-related smells; it can be difficult to notice a small gas leak.
The patented Nu Flow non-invasive epoxy pipe lining technology can be used to restore the integrity of the gas lines, without construction, demolition or mess.
Gas lines tend to corrode and erode over time, similar to water lines. Nu Flow's pipe lining technology makes the lines like new again, stopping leaks and preventing corrosion. This can all be done without destroying floors, ceilings or walls, thus alleviating many of the concerns
municipalities face when considering pipe replacement in aging facilities, such as:
1. Health hazards where asbestos insulation is present
2. High monetary costs of pipe replacement
3. The cost to repair the damaged areas so they look "original"
4. Inconvenience, lost productivity and possible displacement of building/facility occupants
Nu Flow's patented pipe lining technology can be used to restore gas lines and metallic ventilation lines in gas delivery systems. Age and I/I (inflow and infiltration) can cause gas regulation vaults and ventilation pipes to have limited functionality, partially fill with water and debris, and threaten proper ventilation due to obstructions throughout the underground structures. Gas lines rehabilitated using Nu Flow's process are stronger than ever. Nu Flow can easily repair pipe runs containing 45-degree angles and pipe diameter variances.
Nu Flow's technology is not restricted to use in below ground applications. Nu Flow's epoxy can be used in all types of gas, water and sewer lines in almost any setting, even on naval and seagoing vessels. In fact, Nu Flow worked with the U.S. Navy to develop and patent epoxy lining technology to protect aircraft carriers, vessels, and piping in government facilities, and is master licensee of the Navy's patented epoxy and application process.
The epoxy coating used in with the Nu Flow technology has been time tested in every corrosive environment for more than 40 years in Japan, and approximately 25 years in the United States. The life expectancy of the epoxy is estimated to be 100 years.
The Process
First, Nu Flow maps the internal plumbing system to create an implementation plan that will provide the most efficient timeline for completing the job with minimum disruption. The system is drained and tested for leaks using air.
Next, heated compressed air is used to dry all the moisture. The pipe interiors are sandblasted, and air is once again surged through the pipe to remove any residue.
Following another air pressure leak test, the pipe is re-heated to better accept the epoxy coating. After the epoxy is applied, continuous controlled air is sent through the piping to help the epoxy set-up, or cure.
Finally, a leak test and inspection are performed, testing volume and flow to ensure your system is working better than ever!
